FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Fort Wayne women's soccer team is set to square off against the Valparaiso Crusaders on Sunday (Sept. 10) at 1 p.m. at Hefner Soccer Complex.

SCOUTING THE MASTODONS (0-6-0, 0-0-0 Summit League)
The Mastodons enter their matchup with the Crusaders 0-6-0, but four of their matches have been determined by only one goal. Kendall Quinn, Chloee Foor and Jessica Schoenfeldt all lead the team with one goal each. Kallianne Mogler and Breanna Buche each have an assist. Haley Lydon has played all available minutes in goal this season, and has 26 saves.
SCOUTING THE CRUSADERS (4-3-0, 0-0-0 Missouri Valley Conference)
The Valparaiso women's soccer squad enters the 4-3-0, and are coming off a 3-0 loss to Wright State. The Crusaders have played two shared opponents with the Mastodons in Eastern Illinois and Grace. Valpo took a 3-0 win over Grace and a 3-2 overtime win over Eastern Illinois. Sydney Griffin leads the squad with four goals on the year. The remaining five goals for the Crusaders are split among four players.
WHEN WE LAST MET
The 2016 edition of the Fort Wayne-Valparaiso match was a tale of two halves, as the 'Dons were out-shot 11-0 in the first half, including two goals. In the second half, Fort Wayne took a 6-0 edge in shots, but were unable to score. Valparaiso took a 2-0 win on their home turf.
FIRST HALF FIGHTERS
The Mastodons have held four of its last five opponents scoreless in the first half of each contest. Detroit Mercy, Evansville, Youngstown State and Western Michigan were all unable to score on the 'Dons in the first 45 minutes of play.
FRESH LEGS
Two freshmen, Jessica Schoenfeldt and Gabrielle Fanning, have started in all six contests for the Mastodons. Kailyn Wade came off the bench to play in the first three matches, but has two starts in her freshman campaign.
SWIFT SCORERS
The 'Dons scored a pair of goals in Friday's matchup at Eastern Illinois within 28 seconds of each other. These were the fastest back-to-back goals since 2004, when Kristin Mahoney and Timeka Bailey scored two goals in 25 seconds against Cleveland State.
LOOKING BACK
Fort Wayne dropped an overtime match at Eastern Illinois on Friday (Sept. 8) in Charleston, Ill. Chloee Foor and Jessica Schoenfeldt each scored their first goal of the season to push the game into overtime after the 'Dons gave up two goals in the first half. Fort Wayne would eventually fall 3-2, with the golden goal coming in the 104th minute.
