FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's soccer team is set to fly to Omaha for a match against the Mavericks on Friday.

Scouting the Mastodons (3-6-3, 0-2-0 Summit League)
The Mastodons are led by freshman Kayla Wisniewski up front, as she has six goals on the year. Hannah Kroger sets up the midfield, leading the team with five assists so far this season. Senior Haley Lydon and sophomore Lorah Pund have split duties in the net, racking up 36 and 33 saves respectively and a shutout each.
Scouting the Mavericks (3-9-1, 0-2-0 Summit League)
The Mavericks' wins came over Green Bay, Southern Utah and Drake, and all of them had one-goal differentials. Omaha started Summit League play with losses at Oral Roberts (2-0) and Denver (3-1). The Mavs only have six goals on the year, with Bailey Cascio leading the way with two. Erin Bunker, who has played about half of the time in goal has a 3-4-0 record with two shutouts. Ina Gudjonsdottir has played the other half and has a 0-5-1 record.
When We Last Met
Omaha took a 1-0 victory over the Mastodons in Fort Wayne in 2017. Lydia Holtmann, who was a senior last season, scored for the Mavericks in the 14th minute.

Senior keeper Haley Lydon earned the Summit League Defensive Player of the Week on Monday (Sept. 24). She earned this honor behind an eight-save shutout against Chicago State. Her eight saves also moved her into seventh place in the program's career saves category.

Freshman Kayla Wisniewski ranks second in the Summit League in goals and shot accuracy. She also comes in third in total points and goals per game. Hannah Kroger leads the League in total assists with five and is second in assists per game.

In the Mastodons' match against Chicago State, the team recorded eight assists, which set the program record for assists in a single match. This is good for 11th in the country in single-match assists this season.
Spreading the Ball Around
The Mastodons have had seven different players score so far this season, led by Kayla Wisniewski, who has six. There have also been nine 'Dons to distribute an assist, but Hannah Kroger leads that category with five.
Fleming is Fast
Senior Paityn Fleming holds the record for the fastest goal scored in a Mastodon uniform. She scored 28 seconds after the opening kick against Denver on October 27, 2017. Fleming surpassed former teammate Gaby Romo for the fastest goal, who scored in 34 seconds against IUPUI in 2016.
Last Time Out
North Dakota State took a 5-1 win over the Mastodons in Fort Wayne. Breanna Buche scored the goal for the Mastodons on a shot from outside the 18-yard box.
