Purdue Fort Wayne WSOC Signs Eight for 2019

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Eight student athletes signed National Letters of Intent to join Purdue Fort Wayne's women's soccer team for the 2019 season. Tahra Brodbine, Melina Kozachik, Morgan Reitano, Megan Sinnott, Mackenzie Evans, Isabelle Wissel, Olivia Hansen and Madde Elliott will all join the Mastodons next season.
"We are very excited about the 2019 incoming class," Purdue Fort Wayne women's soccer head coach Jason Burr said. "We have been working with a majority of these incredible student-athletes for multiple years and we already feel like they are a part of our family here at Purdue Fort Wayne. They will add a level of enthusiasm and excitement to the pitch every day and we can't wait to see the positive influence each of them have on this program in the immediate future."
Brodbine (Midfielder - 5-3 - Troy, Mich. - Troy H.S. - Michigan Elite) comes to the Summit City after starting for four seasons under head coach Dan Trocolli at Troy. She led the Colts to a regional championship, and was selected as an All-State Third Team member in 2018. Off the field, Brodbine is a member of the Spanish Club and DECA.
Kozachik (Goalkeeper - 5-9 - Hudsonville, Mich. - Hudsonville H.S. - Midwest United FC) spent her freshman and sophomore seasons on the varsity squad at Hudsonville before starting the Development Academy. Her sister Liana played soccer at NCAA Division II Davenport for two seasons.
Reitano (Forward - 5-8 - Fenton, Mich. - Lake Fenton H.S. - Nationals) earned three letters under head coach Spencer Quick, serving as the top goal scorer for her team in 2017 and 2018. She was selected to the First Team All-District and All-Region in 2017 and 2018, All State Honorable Mention in 2018 and All State Third Team in 2017. She was the Offensive Player of the Year in both 2017 and 2018. She led the way for two district titles in 2017 and 2018, and two conference titles in the same years. For her club team, Reitano helped lead the way to the Michigan State Cup finals in 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019, with a semifinal run in 2017. Her squad was the Cup champion in 2018. Each of the 2015-2018 seasons, her team was a USYS Midwest Regional Qualifier, with a championship in 2017. In 2016 and 2017, the club qualified for the USYS National Championship, which they won in 2017. Reitano scored in the 2017 National Championship match. Off the pitch, Reitano was a letter-winner in track in 2017, and was a member of her school's choir.
Sinnott (Forward - 5-2 - Wauconda, Ill. - Wauconda H.S. - Crystal Lake Force) played varsity for three seasons for the Bulldogs, leading her team to two conference championships and two regional championships. She was an All-Conference selection in 2017 and 2018. For her club team, Sinnott led the squad to the 2016 Disney Showcase championship and the Midwest Regional League championship in 2016 and 2017. Away from the soccer field, Sinnott was a track and field athlete from 2015-2018 with the Flippen Flyers Track Club, which she capped off by becoming an All-American javelin thrower with a sixth place finish.
Evans (Forward - 5-6 - Troy, Ohio - Troy H.S. - Ohio Galaxies Elite) earned four letters at Troy under head coach Michael Rasey. She was the 2015 Troy High School Rookie of the Year before leading the Trojans to the Greater Western Ohio Conference North Division championship in 2017. Individually, Evans was a First Team selection for the GWOC North Division in 2016 and 2017, Second Team All-Area in 2016, First Team All-Area in 2017, and Second Team All-State in 2017. Through her club team, the Ohio Galaxies Elite, Evans was a 2016 Blue Chip Showcase champion. When not playing soccer, Evans was involved in the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy and student government in her first three years of high school. She also had volunteer opportunities through the Honda Underprivileged Families Christmas Gathering, reading buddies, and Brookdale Nursing Home.
Wissel (Defender - 5-3 - Fairfield, Ohio - Fairfield, H.S. - Total Futbol Academy) played four years under Patrick O'Leary. She tallied two goals and four assists in her senior season, en route to a First Team All-Greater Miami Conference selection. She was also named to the Second Team a year earlier. The Indians won the Greater Miami Conference and district championships under Wissel's leadership. Her club team earned a State Cup championship, a national semifinal berth, and a National League Division championship. In the classroom, Wissel earned the Straight A Award and Honor Roll in each of her first three years.
Hansen (Defender - 5-2 - Valparaiso, Ind. - Chesterton H.S. - Chicago Magic) played four years for the Trojans, and earned a place on the All-District First Team in 2017 and 2018. She was an All-Conference selection in 2017 and 2018, All-State Third Team in 2017, and North vs. South MVP and top team player in 2016. Hansen led the way for her high school squad to earn sectional championships in 2015 and 2017, and Duneland Athletic Conference championships in 2016 and 2017. With FC Indiana, Hansen took the group to the Women's Premier Soccer League National Championship in 2015. In 2018, Hansen and the Chicago Magic won the Illinois State Cup. Academically, she earned the Principal's Honor Roll in 2015 and 2018, and the High Honor Roll in 2016 and 2018.
Elliott (Midfielder - 5-3 - Hinsdale, Ill. - Hinsdale Central H.S. - Chicago Inter Soccer Club) earned All-Conference and All-Sectional spots in 2016 while spending her freshman year at Lincoln Way Central. At Hinsdale, she was the team's assist leader and second on the team in goals. While playing club ball with the United Soccer Academy, Elliott and her squad won the Disney Presidents' Day Tournament. Elliott earned a place on the Dean's List all three years of high school so far.
