Two 'Dons Named To Summit League Men’s Soccer Academic All-League Team

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – A pair of Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons have been named to the 2018 Summit League Men's Soccer Academic All-League team. Seniors Romain Lopez and Adam Gannon were two of 11 student-athletes in the conference to earn the honor.
Lopez, a general studies and management major, owns a 3.76 GPA. The Cannes, France native started in 19 games for the 'Dons in 2018. He helped Purdue Fort Wayne to 10 wins, the most in a single season during the NCAA Division I era for the 'Dons. Lopez led the league and tied for seventh nationally with his 10 assists on the season. It is the most for a Purdue Fort Wayne men's soccer player in a season in the Division I era (2001 to present). He also had four goals.
Gannon, an accounting major, owns a 3.69 GPA. The Fort Wayne native earned 2018 All-Summit League Second Team honors after starting all 19 games for the 'Dons. Gannon also totaled four assists on the season. He is a graduate of Carroll High School in Fort Wayne.
This is the first time in program history the 'Dons have earned two Academic All-League nods in the same season.
To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team's competitions.
