Young and McCarver Score Double Figures in Road Loss

OMAHA, Neb. - The Fort Wayne women's basketball team had a season-low 11 turnovers, but the Mastodons were unable to pick up a road victory as they fell to Omaha 77-61.
De'Jour Young led the 'Dons with 17 points and eight rebounds to go along with a season-high four steals. KeShyra McCarver finished with 14 points and a season-high eight rebounds. Peyton Fallis also had eight boards, a career-high for her.
After the Mavericks made a bucket on their first possession of the game, the 'Dons got a three-pointer from Hannah Albrecht, giving them their only lead of the game. Fort Wayne trailed by only one, 18-17, at the end of the first quarter. The Mastodons were limited to eight points in the second period, as the UNO lead grew to eight at the half. The 'Dons cut the deficit to three with 2:41 to go in the fourth, but an 11-0 run by Omaha cemented the game.
The Mastodons finished the game shooting 23-of-68 (33.8%) from the floor, 4-of-26 (15.4%) beyond the arc and 11-of-15 (73.3%) at the free throw line.
Fort Wayne returns home to host North Dakota State Thursday, February 15 at 6 p.m.
