Women’s Golf Finishes Fourth at Gary Freeman Invitational

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Fort Wayne women's golf team finished in fourth place on the final day of the Gary Freeman Spring Invitational, shooting the second lowest team score on the day with a 326, and finish the week with a 668
Hosted by Bethune-Cookman at the LPGA International Hills Course, the par-72 course was played at 6,124 yards. Bethune-Cookman claimed the team title with a 620 overall. Mackenzie Butzer also of Bethune-Cookman won on the fourth playoff hole against teammate Yudika Rodriguez, after tying with a two-day score of 151.
Madison Chesnutt finished first for the Mastodons after shooting 77 on the final day. She tied for 20th with a 36-hole score of 162, one back of seventh place. Linnzie Richner placed 13th, carding an 81 on day two to finish at 167. Jenna Kurosky tied for 15th and Monica Dorner tied for 21st, with scores of 169 and 174, respectively. Abigail Carlsen rounded out the team score with a 175 for the week and finish tied for 24th.
Paige Bird competed as an individual and finished 37th, shooting a 197 for the tournament.
Fort Wayne returns to the course for the Spring Break Shootout March 12-13 in Tampa, Florida.
