Chesnutt and Carlsen Pace Mastodons on Day One at ISU

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - After day one of the ISU Spring Invitational, the Fort Wayne women's golf team sits in sixth place with a team score of 319.
Hosted by Indiana State at the par-72, 6,041-yard Country Club of Terre Haute, Western Illinois and Northern Iowa are tied for the team lead with scores of 306. Emily Snelling of UNI leads the individual standings after shooting a 2-under-par 70.
The Mastodons enter the final round two shots back of fifth place William Woods and seven back of fourth place Loyola-Chicago.
Madison Chesnutt and Abigail Carlsen led the Mastodons for the day, shooting a 78, respectively, to tie for 12th. Finishing the round in a tie for 32nd is Jenna Kurosky, with an 81. Paige Bird is one shot back in a tie for 37th place. Monica Dorner rounded out the scoring for the 'Dons with an 87 and is tied for 52nd.
Playing as an individual, Linnzie Richner carded an 84 through 18 holes, and enters the final round tied for 43rd place.
The final round of the ISU Spring Invitational will be a noon shotgun start tomorrow, April 9.
