Women's Golf Wraps Up Regular Season With Eighth Place Finish

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Fort Wayne women's golf team closed out its regular season with an eighth place finish at the ISU Spring Invitational, shooting a final-round 339 to finish the tournament with a 36-hole score of 658.
Hosted by Indiana State at the par-72, 6,041-yard Country Club of Terre Haute, Loyola-Chicago won the team trophy with a two-day score of 614. Emily Snelling of Northern Iowa earned individual medalist honors shooting a 3-over-par 147.
The Mastodons finished three shots back of seventh place Evansville.
Playing as an individual, Linnzie Richner carded the lowest round of the tournament for the 'Dons, a 77, to finish tied for 26th with a two-day score of 161.
Leading the team scoring for the Mastodons was Abigail Carlsen, shooting an 86 for the day, to finish at 164 and tie for 34th. Finishing one shot back in a tie for 36th was Madison Chesnutt, who shot an 87 on the round. Paige Bird carded an 85 to place 41st with a 36-hole score of 167. Tied for 42nd and sitting one stroke back with an 81 on the day was Monica Dorner. Jenna Kurosky rounded out the team scoring for the 'Dons, shooting a 90 on day two and finishing in 49th place with a 171.
Fort Wayne now prepares for the Summit League Championship April 22-24 at the Arbor Links Golf Club in Nebraska City, Nebraska.
