NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. – The Fort Wayne women's golf season comes to a close as the Mastodons head off to compete in The Summit League Championship April 22-24.
Event: The Summit League Championship
When: April 22-24
Tee Times: 9 a.m. ET each round off the No. 1 tee
Where: Nebraska City, Nebraska | Arbor Links Golf Club
Par: 72
Yardage: 6,142
Format: 54-hole stroke play | 18 holes each day
Live Scoring: GolfStat Live Scoring
COMPETING TEAMS
Fort Wayne will compete against seven other teams. The Mastodons will be joined by: Denver, North Dakota State, Omaha, Oral Roberts, South Dakota, South Dakota State, and Western Illinois.
THE COURSE
Arbor Links takes advantage of the natural features of the site. Native grasses have been used to define and separate the golf holes, which is set on the existing terrain with as little land form disturbance as possible. Bunkers and other hazards have been sculpted to create an old world look and feel. Greens and fairways are expansive, providing unequaled challenges and stimulated creative strategy, while remaining simple and natural.
The course was built on wooded hills and old cornfields northwest of Arbor Day Farm. Each of Arbor Link's 18 holes tells a conservation story, ranging from "Black Cherry Row" for the first hole, demonstrating field windbreaks and their value, to hole 18, "Cottonwood Creek," which illustrates the use of bioengineering in restoring and protecting the banks of South Table Creek.
FORT WAYNE LINEUP
Paige Bird, Abigail Carlsen, Madison Chesnutt, Jenna Kurosky and Linnzie Richner.
