44 Mastodons And Baseball Team Honored By The Summit League

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Summit League has announced the 2017-18 Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence, and the list includes 44 Purdue Fort Wayne selections. In order for a student-athlete to be selected to the Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence, the student-athlete must carry a 3.50 or better cumulative GPA, used a year of eligibility and previously completed one academic year.

The Summit League also recognized Team Academic Achievement Awards in each sport based on percentage of list-eligible student-athletes on the Commissioner's List. The Mastodons took home the baseball honor with head coach Bobby Pierce's squad owning the highest percentage of Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence winners among baseball teams in the Summit League. They tied with South Dakota State for the honor.
