Anderson Ties Two Records, Team Sets New 54-Hole Mark

YORKTOWN, Ind. - It was a record-setting day for the Purdue Fort Wayne women's golf team during the final round of the Cardinal Classic. The Mastodons set a new 54-hole team score, finishing the week with a 940 to place 13th. Individually, Holly Anderson tied the program mark for lowest round, shooting a 1-under-par 71, and also tied the 54-hole mark with a 227
Hosted by Ball State at the par-72 The Players Club, the tournament course was played at 6,204 yards. UIndy won the team title with a two-day score of 866. Kennedy Holtsclaw also of UIndy captured the individual medalist honors with a 3-under-par 213.
Purdue Fort Wayne's 54-hole score of 940 eclipsed the previous mark of 943, which was accomplished twice. The 'Dons shot a 307 on the final day, which is tied for the seventh lowest round in program history. The Mastodons finished four shots back of 12th place Dayton, and ended the week 40 shots better than Summit League rival Western Illinois.
Anderson's 1-under-par 71 tied a mark she matched during the first tournament of the season and was also reached by Alison Rathsman twice. She finished the week in a tie for 21st with a 227, which tied the program's individual 54-hole record set by Monica Dorner. Anderson recorded three birdies and an eagle during the final round.
Emma Schroeder finished tied for 40th place, shooting a 79 to finish with a 234. Abigail Carlsen carded a 78 on the final day to tie for 62nd with a 239. Paige Bird concluded the tournament with a 241, shooting an 80 for the round and finish tied for 67th. Linnzie Richner rounded out the scoring with a 79 for the day and 245 for the tournament to finish tied for 70th.
The Mastodons return to action September 24 and 25 for the Golden Grizzlies Invite in Rochester, Michigan.
