Anderson Eighth, Mastodons Sixth Through Round One

ROCHESTER, Mich. - After the opening day of the Golden Grizzlies Invitational, the Purdue Fort Wayne women's golf team sits in sixth place after shooting an opening-round score of 328.

Hosted by Oakland at the Katke-Cousins Golf Course, the par-72 course is being played at 6,056 yards. Loyola-Chicago leads the team standings with a 315. Elayna Bowser also of LUC stands atop of individual leaderboard with a 1-over-par 73.

The Mastodons enter the final round two shots back of Green Bay and Eastern Michigan.

Leading the way for the 'Dons in a tie for eighth place is Holly Anderson. She carded a pair of birdies in the round to finish with a 79. Linnzie Richner led the team with three birdies, as she shot an 81 and is tied for 15th. Abigail Carlsen carded an 83 and is tied for 23rd place. Paige Bird is tied for 34th place, shooting an 85. Emma Schroeder rounded out the team scoring for the Mastodons with a 93 and is tied for 62nd.

Competing as individuals, Mackenzi Black shot an 87 and is tied for 42nd, while Kennedy Brooker carded an 89 and is tied for 51st place.

The final round of the Golden Grizzlies Invitational begins tomorrow, September 25, with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
