Mastodons Wrap Up Golden Grizzlies Invite in Seventh Place

ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's golf team wrapped up the Golden Grizzlies Invitational with a 332 during the final round, to finish the tournament in seventh place with a 660.
The tournament was hosted by Oakland at the par-72, 6,056-yard Katke-Cousins Golf Course. The host Golden Grizzlies and Loyola-Chicago tied for the team title with 36-hole scores of 638. Elayna Bowser of LUC captured the individual medalist honors with a 5-over-par 149.
The Mastodons finished four shots back of sixth place Cleveland State, but finished 13 shots better than a pair of Horizon League schools in Northern Kentucky and Detroit Mercy.
Holly Anderson led the 'Dons on the day with an 82 and finished tied for 11th place with a two-day score of 161. Abigail Carlsen carded an 83 for the round and a 166 for the week to tie for 31st. Paige Bird led the team with two birdies in the round to finish with an 83 and tied for 31st place at 168. Shooting an 89 on the day was Linnzie Richner, who tied for 39th place with a 170. Emma Schroeder rounded out the team scoring with an 84, to finish with a two-day score of 177 and tie for 57th.
The Mastodons had a pair of individuals compete in the tournament. Kennedy Brooker shot an 86 for the round and a 175 for the week to finish tied for 53rd place. Mackenzi Black finished tied for 62nd with a 93 for the round and a 180 over 36-holes.
Purdue Fort Wayne next competes at the Shirley Spork EMU Invitational October 8 and 9 in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
