CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's golf team sits in ninth place after day one of the Saluki Invitational, as the Mastodons carded a 331.

Hosted by Southern Illinois at the Hickory Ridge Golf Course, the par-72 course is being played at 6,091 yards. The host Salukis leads the team standings with a score of 299. Thilda Staubo of Indiana State sits atop the individual leaderboard with a 2-under-par 70.

The 'Dons finished the day five shots better than Tennessee State and Maryville, while sitting one shot back of Valparaiso and two back of Omaha.

Playing as an individual, Paige Bird leads the Mastodons carding a 4-over-par 76 and is tied for sixth place. Linnzie Richner, also playing as an individual, sits in a tie for 41st place with an 84.

Holly Anderson leads the team scoring for the 'Dons, carding an 80 for the day as she is tied for 22nd. Emma Schroeder recorded a score of 82 and is tied for 33rd overall. Abigail Carlsen is tied for 41st place after shooting an 84. One stroke back in a tie for 48th place is Sarah Lewis. Kennedy Brooker rounds out the team scoring for the Mastodons, carding an 89 for the day to tie for 64th.

The final round of the Saluki Invitational begins tomorrow, March 25, at 10 a.m. ET.
