Mastodons Kick Off Spring Break With Sixth Place Finish

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's golf team kicked off Spring Break by finishing sixth out of 14 teams at the Lonnie Barton Invitational, shooting rounds of 322-324-646.
Hosted by LIU-Brooklyn at the par-72, 6,071-yard LPGA International - Jones Course, Bethune Cookman captured the team title with a two-day score of 590. Yudika Rodriguez also of BCU earned medalist honors with a 4-under-par 140.
The Mastodons finished six shots back of fifth place Sacred Heart and seven back of fourth-place Wagner.
Holly Anderson led the way for the 'Dons in a tie for 15th place. She carded rounds of 78 and 80 to finish at 158. One shot back in a tie for 21st was Emma Schroeder with scores of 83 and 76. Abigail Carlsen shot a 162 (79-83), to finish tied for 26th. Paige Bird tied for 39th place, shooting 86-81-167. Linnzie Richner rounds out the scoring for the Mastodons with a 169 (83-86), tying for 45th place.
Playing as individuals for the 'Dons were Sarah Lewis and Kennedy Brooker. Lewis tied for 26th place, shooting rounds of 82-80-162. Brooker carded scored of 86 and 81 to finish at 167 and tie for 39th.
Purdue Fort Wayne returns to action at LPGA International on Thursday, March 7 for the Lady Cat Invitational.
