Women's Golf Cards Fourth Lowest Team Score in Program History

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's golf team finished the Lady Cat Invitational in eighth place, as the Mastodons carded a final-round 317 to finish the week with a team score of 947.
Hosted by Bethune-Cookman, the par-72 LGPA International - Jones Course was played at 6,240 yards. Barry took home the team trophy with a two-day score of 8-under-par 856. Noemie Pare and Josefina Foa Torres of Barry shared medalist honors with 54-hole scores of 6-under-par 210.
The Mastodons' team score of 947 ranks fourth all-time in program history. Holly Anderson and Kennedy Brooker tied for the team lead with a 54-hole score of 234, both of which rank tied for fifth all-time in program history. Linnzie Richner, Sarah Lewis, and Abigail Carlsen also turned in top-10 all-time performances.
Anderson led the 'Dons as she tied for 36th place, carding a 75 on the final day and finish the week with a 234. Lewis finished her round with an 80 for a two-day score of 236, tying for 43rd. Carlsen shot a final-round 80 to tie for 47th place with a 237. Emma Schroeder carded an 83 for the day, as she tied for 59th with a total score of 244. Paige Bird rounds out the scoring for the 'Dons with an 82 for the day and 247 on the week, and tying for 63rd place.
Playing as an individual, Brooker carded a team-high five birdies for the round, including three straight on Nos. 6, 7, and 8, as she fired a 77 for the round. Brooker tied for 36th with a 54-hole score of 234. Brooker finished the tournament with nine birdies, tied for 10th most among the 84-player field. One shot back for the tournament was Richner, who carded a team-low 74 for the round, as she tied for 41st with a 235.
Purdue Fort Wayne will take a few weeks off before returning to action for the Saluki Invitational March 24 and 25 in Carbondale, Illinois.
