'Dons Earn Five Top 10 Performances at Home Tournament

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's golf team turned in five top-10 performances during its home tournament, the Mastodon Spring Invite, as the 'Dons finished in third place with a 36-hole score of 635.
Hosted by the Mastodons at the Pine Valley Country Club, the par-71 course was played at 5,872 yards. Green Bay captured the team title with a two-day score of 624. Alexa Hatz of Detroit Mercy earned the individual medalist honors with a 152.
The 'Dons finished one shot back of Detroit Mercy for second place.
Abigail Carlsen led the team scoring for the Mastodons as she recorded a birdie on the par-3 No. 16 to finish the day with a 76. For the week, she tied for fourth place with a score of 157. Holly Anderson and Linnzie Richner tied for ninth place with two-day scores of 159. Anderson shot a 78 on the final day, while Richner carded a birdie on No. 5, a par-4, to finish the day with a 74, the lowest round by any player in the tournament. Emma Schroeder carded an 83 for the day to finish in 15th place with a 163. Paige Bird rounded out the team scoring with an 82 for the round and a 165 for the week to tie for 18th.
Playing as an individual, Kennedy Brooker carded an 80 for the day, which included a birdie on the par-3 No. 6. For the tournament, Brooker tied for fourth place with a two-day score of 157. Finishing one shot back in a tie for seventh is Sarah Lewis, who shot a 77 on the final day.
In its final tune-up before the Summit League Championship, Purdue Fort Wayne next competes at the Indiana State Invitational April 7 & 8.
