Mastodons Wrap Up Regular Season With Ninth Place Finish

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's golf wrapped up its regular season with a ninth place finish at the ISU Spring Invitational, carding a 313 on the final day and a 623 for the tournament.
Hosted by Indiana State at the Country Club of Terre Haute, the par-72 course was played at 6,004 yards. California Baptist won the team title with a 36-hole score of 578. Jocelyn Chee also of CBU earned the medalist honors, winning in a playoff after shooting a 2-under-par 142.
The Mastodons finished six shots back of eighth place Northern Iowa, but finished 21 strokes better than Summit League rival Western Illinois.
The Mastodons were led by Holly Anderson and Abigail Carlsen who tied for 18th place with a two-day score of 153. Carlsen led the 'Dons on the final with a 2-over-par 74, while Anderson finished with a 76. Two strokes back in a tie for 29th is Linnzie Richner who shot a 78 for the round. Sarah Lewis tied for 56th place, carding an 85 for the round and a 162 for the tournament. Kennedy Brooker rounds out the team scoring in a tie for 71st place, shooting a score of 85 on the day and a 170 over 36 holes.
Playing as an individual, Paige Bird tied for 29th place as she carded a 78 on Tuesday and a 155 for the week. Emma Schroeder also shot a 78 for the day to finish tied for 44th place with a 158.
Purdue Fort Wayne now turns its attention to The Summit League Championship April 21-23 in Newton, Kansas.
