Purdue Fort Wayne Concludes Rocket Classic Appearance

PORT CLINTON, Ohio - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's golf team wrapped up its appearance at the Rocket Classic on Tuesday (Oct. 12), finishing with a 975 team score.
Taylor Norman competed as an individual and had the best finish of any individual in the field. She also had the best score of any Mastodon, firing off an 80-78-75-233 to tie for 13th place. Arny Dagsdottir also played as an individual, shooting 89-87-85-261.
Leading those shooting for the team score, Anna Olafsdottir turned in a 78-80-83-241. She had a birdie on 10, a 485-yard par-5. She finished with eight pars, taking 36th.
Emma Schroeder's round was highlighted by an eagle on 12, as she holed out her second shot from 134 yards out. This was one of just two eagles in the field. She had nine pars, seven of which came on the front nine. Schroeder took 46th place with a 85-82-80-247.
Laura Caetano and Kennedy Brooker both finished with 249, tying for 48th place. Caetano had nine pars for an 85. Brooker had eight pars and a birdie on hole six for an 84. Casey Bunner had her score taken on Tuesday, firing an 81 to finish with a 250. She had a birdie on 18 to go with her eight pars.
As a team, the 'Dons took 10th. Central Michigan won the Rocket Classic with a 900 team score.
The Mastodons will finish up their fall season on October 18-19, when they compete in the Dayton Flyer Invitational in Kettering, Ohio.
