Two ‘Dons Named to #HLMSOC All-Academic Squads

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – A pair of Purdue Fort Wayne men's soccer student-athletes have been honored for their work in the classroom, the Horizon League announced on Tuesday (Nov. 2) afternoon.
Emil Fosse was named to the 2021 Horizon League Men's Soccer All-Academic Team while Erik Josson received a Honorable Mention nod.
The Horizon League recognizes student-athletes with seasonal Academic All-League Teams in each of its 19 championship sports. To be eligible for Horizon League All-Academic consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.20 or higher (based on a 4.00 scale), have completed at least one year at the member institution, having earned 24 semester-hour or 36 quarter-hour credits, and participate in 50 percent of the team's overall contests. An Honorable Mention team is awarded to student-athletes who received at least 25 percent of votes, but did not make the All-Academic team.
Fosse has started 14 games for the Mastodons this season in the midfield. He owns assists against Eastern Illinois and Robert Morris. He's played whistle-to-whistle 12 times this season, including a pair of 110-minute performances in ties against Western Michigan and Green Bay. Fosse is a finance and business major with a 3.92 GPA. He is a three-year starter for the 'Dons and was selected as one of Purdue Fort Wayne's Top 50 students last spring.
Josson is a finance major with a 4.00 GPA. He has started 11 matches this season, holding a 1.55 goals against average. He earned a Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week honor this year after shutouts against Eastern Illinois and Western Illinois.
The 'Dons close out the regular season on Wednesday (Nov. 3) at Milwaukee.
