LAST TIME OUT
Purdue Fort Wayne will be heading to Pennsylvania after their first Horizon League win against Cleveland State on Thursday (Feb. 25). The Mastodons defeated the Vikings 3-2 at the Plex South in Fort Wayne. Cleveland State scored at the 17th minute, but the Mastodons responded only a few minutes later at 19:46 when Kailyn Wade gathered her own rebound and sent the ball right above the Vikings goalkeeper for a Purdue Fort Wayne goal. Freshman Rylee Vruggink recorded her first collegiate goal early on in the second half and then in the 65th minute Eliese LaCourt put the 'Dons on the board again.
SCOUTING THE COLONIALS
Robert Morris fell to UIC on Wednesday (Feb. 24) 3-1. Gabriella Lecuona scored her first goal of the season in the loss to the Flames. The Colonials also own a 5-1 loss to Milwaukee and a 1-0 loss to Northern Kentucky this season. The only common opponent for the Colonials and Mastodons is Milwaukee. The 'Dons fell 1-0 at Milwaukee to open the season.
SERIES HISTORY
It has been almost 190 days since the Mastodons and Colonials met. On August 25, 2019, Purdue Fort Wayne and Robert Morris tied 1-1 at the North Athletic Complex in Moon Township, Pa. Morgan Reitano scored in the contest. Robert Morris scored in the 79th minute with a one-touch pass from Kayla Veloso-Lima to the goal scorer, Sheridan Reid. In 2017 the 'Dons won 4-2 in a game played in Fort Wayne. In 2015 the 'Dons defeated Robert Morris 3-2 on the road.
THE GREAT INDOORS
This will be the Mastodons' fourth straight game indoors. The 'Dons should get used to climate controlled surroundings as the game next week at UIC is also scheduled to be played indoors.
