FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Purdue Fort Wayne will conclude its first regular season in the Horizon League on Monday, March 22 when Milwaukee comes to town for a doubleheader in the Gates Sports Center.

Know Your Foe
Milwaukee is 6-6 heading into the final week of the regular season, coming off a pair of 3-0 wins over Oakland. Middle blocker Ari Miller is leading Milwaukee in kills per set with 3.12 and a .326 hitting clip. The Panthers are paced by a pair of setters, Rylie Vaughn and Kaley Blake who both average between five and six assists per set, leading them to a .193 team hitting percentage. Defensively, Jess Grabowski is leading the way with 4.69 digs per set.
Senior Day
Purdue Fort Wayne's second game against Milwaukee on Monday will serve as the Mastodons' senior day for a pair of players. Julia Wayer and Sydney Boerst will be honored in their final regular season home games of their careers. Fellow senior Katie Crowe will not be recognized, as she intends to return for another year of play with the Mastodons.
The Series
The 'Dons and Panthers have only met four times in program history, with one of those matches coming in 1989. The two teams have not met each other since 2011, which was a 3-1 win for Milwaukee in Drake's tournament in Des Moines, Iowa. Milwaukee is 0-1 in the Gates Sports Center.
Player of the Year Candidate
Katie Crowe has attained as good of a Player of the Year résumé as any other player in the Horizon League. She was named Player of the Week four times in 2021, more than any other player. She became the fourth player in Horizon League history to win the Player of the Week honor four times in a season. Crowe is the League-leader in kills per set at 4.22. The next closest player, Alexandra Zakutney, is averaging 3.60. Even though she has the most attacks in the League, she is in the top 10 in the League in hitting percentage at .278, which is the second-best among left-side hitters, third among all pin hitters.
