Colten Gasson Takes Both League Cross Country Honors

INDIANAPOLIS – Purdue Fort Wayne's Colten Gasson has been named the Horizon League Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week and the Freshman of the Week for his performance at the Bethel Invitational, the league office announced on Tuesday (Oct. 11).
Gasson led the Mastodons with a time of 26:40.80 in the 8K race at Bethel. It was a new personal record for the freshman from Fort Loramie, Ohio. Gasson took more than a minute off his previous best 8K time of the season.
The two honors make it three awards for the 'Dons this season. Riley Tate earned a Horizon League Freshman of the Week honor on the women's side earlier this year.
The Mastodons are back in action on Friday (Oct. 14) at the Bradley Pink Classic. It is the final meet for the 'Dons before the Horizon League Championships.
