Anna Olafsdottir One Shot Back at Dayton Flyer Invitational

KETTERING, Ohio - Anna Olafsdottir of the Purdue Fort Wayne women's golf team is just one shot behind first place after the opening round of the Dayton Flyer Invitational.
Olafsdottir finished her round on Monday (Oct. 17) with a 75, putting her in a tie for second. She is one stroke back of Indianapolis' Anci Dy. Olafsdottir had a stretch of 14 holes with just one bogey. She had all 13 of her pars in this section of the round.
Fellow Icelander Arny Dagsdottir was the team's second-best in round one, firing a 79 to tie for 11th. Her round featured 12 pars with a birdie on hole three.
Adrienne Rohwedder shot an 82 to tie for 28th with seven pars. Laura Caetano was two shots back in 34th with an 84. She started her round with a birdie and finished with four pars in her last five holes. Luiza Caetano shot 86 to round out those competing for the team score. She parred six holes.
Taylor Norman (82, T28) and Natalie Papa (85, T40) competed as individuals. Norman birdied hole seven to go with seven pars. Papa parred seven holes as well.
As a team, the Mastodons shot 320 and occupy fourth place. They are nine shots off the leader, the host Dayton Flyers. The 'Dons are ahead of Horizon League members Cleveland State (323) and Northern Kentucky (332).
Purdue Fort Wayne will play its final round of the fall season tomorrow (Tuesday, Oct. 18) with a 10:30 a.m. shotgun start.
