Icelanders Tie for Ninth at Dayton Flyer Invitational

KETTERING, Ohio - Arny Dagsdottir and Anna Olafsdottir of the Purdue Fort Wayne women's golf team tied for ninth at the Dayton Fall Invitational on Tuesday (Oct. 18).
Dagsdottir recorded the first top-10 of her career with a 79-77-156. She birdied the par-4 10th to pair with nine pars. Olafsdottir was even with Dagsdottir for the two-day event, but floated around the top of the leaderboard for a portion of the round. She was just 1-over after six holes. She finished with nine pars as well.
The Brazilian twins Laura Caetano and Luiza Caetano were third and fourth on the team this week. Laura turned in 84-78-162 with 10 pars for 27th place. Luiza took 34th after an 86-81-167 two-day total. She had eight pars.
Adrienne Rohwedder shot 82-89-171 to round out the Mastodon lineup. She had five pars to tie for 44th. Natalie Papa (85-84-169, T-39) and Taylor Norman (82-88-170, T42) played as individuals.
As a team, Purdue Fort Wayne shot 320-317-637 to take fourth. They were the best among Horizon League teams in attendance, topping Cleveland State (655) and Northern Kentucky (656). UIndy won the team title with a 620, led by Anci Dy (151), the individual medalist.
The Mastodons are done with their fall season. They will return to the course in the spring.
