Jackson Has Career Night in Mastodons' Win Over Robert Morris

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Ramei Jackson hammered down a career-high 19 kills with a .708 hitting percentage in Purdue Fort Wayne's 3-1 (25-21, 25-17, 24-26, 25-23) win over Robert Morris on Saturday night (Oct. 29) in the Gates Sports Center.
Jackson's .708 hitting percentage is the third-best single-match performance in program history with at least 20 attempts.
Jackson got the Mastodons off to a quick start with six kills on seven swings in the opening set. She bookended a late 6-1 run.
The 'Dons went up 13-5 in the second set after Jackson had an ace. It was one of 11 aces for the team, with six coming from Nicole Jones. Her six aces ranks fourth in program history in four-set matches. A kill from Madelyn Wurster and a block from Jena Medearis and Iris Riegel capped off the second.
RMU used an 8-3 push down the stretch to take set three. Jones had three of her aces in the fourth set, including one in the key 4-0 run to close the match.
The Mastodons hit .281, their third-best of the season. This included three sets of over .300.
Wurster and Sidney Schiller joined Jackson in double-figures with 12 and 11 kills, respectively. Schiller notched a double-double with 10 digs. Rachael Crucis had 20 digs.
Purdue Fort Wayne improves to 8-16, 4-9 Horizon League. Robert Morris falls to 9-17, 2-12. The Mastodons will be back in action on Tuesday (Nov. 1) at Milwaukee.
