'Dons Drop League Match at Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's volleyball team fell to the Milwaukee Panthers on Tuesday night (Nov. 1) 25-18, 25-21, 25-14 in the Klotsche Center.
The first set was tightly contested until late. It featured eight ties and just one lead change. Milwaukee had a 6-0 run to take the lead for good.
The Mastodons led set two by as many as six at 17-11 after a kill from Ramei Jackson. The home team went on a 9-1 run to go up 20-18. The 'Dons tied it at 20 but the Panthers finished the frame with five of the last six points.
Milwaukee jumped out to a 10-4 lead after an ace. The 'Dons closed the gap to within one at 10-9, but Milwaukee went on a 15-5 finishing run.
Jena Medearis finished with a match-high five blocks.
Purdue Fort Wayne falls to 8-17 and 4-10 in Horizon League play. Milwaukee improves to 9-17, 8-7. The Mastodons will continue a tough road stretch with the top two teams in the league with Northern Kentucky on Friday (Nov. 4) and Wright State on Saturday (Nov. 5).
