Iris Riegel Named to #HLVB All-Freshman Team

INDIANAPOLIS - Purdue Fort Wayne pin hitter Iris Riegel was named to the #HLVB All-Freshman Team on Thursday (Nov. 17), the Horizon League announced.
The freshman from Kettering, Ohio played in all 29 matches in her first season with the Mastodons. She had the second-best kills per set average on the team with a 2.93 clip. In Horizon League action, she had a 2.87 kills per set clip with a .167 hitting percentage. She ranked 10th in kills per set in all matches and 13th in league matches only. In her first week of collegiate volleyball, Riegel was named to the Purdue Fort Wayne Invitational All-Tournament Team. She had 15 matches with double-digit kills, nine of which came in Horizon League play.
Riegel is the first Mastodon to be named to the All-Freshman Team since Ramei Jackson in the spring of 2021.
