Anna Olafsdottir Wins 1-Up Against UIC

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Purdue Fort Wayne women's golfer Anna Olafsdottir picked up a head-to-head win on Monday (Feb. 7), but the Mastodons fell to UIC 5-1 at the Motor City Cup.
Olafsdottir beat Adrienne Montalone 1-up, taking the lead for good on the penultimate hole. The pair both spent time leading the match, but the Mastodon won four of the last nine holes to take the win.
Laura Caetano fell to Megan Tang 5&3 despite taking an early lead by winning the first hole. Kennedy Brooker lost to Grace Szklarek 4&3, while Casey Bunner dropped her match to Brooke Beyer 3&2. Taylor Norman and Sarah Brenneman both lost their matches 5&3.
The Mastodons finished the Motor City Cup with a 1-2 record, with their win coming against Northern Kentucky. IUPUI won the event with a 4-1-1 win over No. 3 Green Bay on Monday.
Purdue Fort Wayne will return to Florida in a month to play in the Benbow Invitational in Jacksonville on March 7-8.
