JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. - Through the first round at the Benbow Invitational on Monday (Marh 7), Anna Olafsdottir of the Purdue Fort Wayne women's golf team is in third of the 80-player field.
Olafsdottir turned in a 73 (+2), dropping birdies on holes 3, 7, 10, 14 and 17. She had the most birdies in the field.
Kennedy Brooker is tied for 11th after an opening round of 78. She had a birdie on hole 11 to go with 10 pars.
Arny Dagdottir played from the No. 5 spot, carding an 83 to tie for 45th. She had birdies on holes four and 11.
Luiza Caetano (84, t-51st) and Laura Caetano (85, t-55th) rounded out those competing for the team score. Luiza had a birdie on 18.
Casey Bunner competed as an individual, turning in a 97.
The Mastodons shot 318 to tie for fifth out of 13 teams Eastern Michigan is leading with a 309, and Butler's Ally Ross is leading individually with a 70.
The final round of the Benbow Invitational will fire off with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. on Tuesday (March 8).
