Arny Dagsdottir Fires Career-Best in Opening Round of SHU Invitational

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Arny Dagsdottir of the Purdue Fort Wayne women's golf team fired a career-best 75 on Friday (March 11) in the opening round of the Sacred Heart Invitational.
Dagsdottir started her day with five-straight bogey-free holes, including a birdie on two. After making the turn, she dropped another birdie on 10 to go with five back-nine pars. Her 75 was good to tie for 10th place.
With 11 pars in the opening round, Anna Olafsdottir shot a 78 for 22nd place. She also had a birdie fall on 10. Kennedy Brooker tied with Olafsdottir with her own 78, coming on 10 pars and two birdies on 10 and 15.
Laura Caetano turned in a scorecard of 79 for 29th place with three birdies on seven, 12 and 18. Her sister Luiza Caetano rounded out those competing for the team score with an 84 behind eight pars for 55th place.
Casey Bunner competed as an individual, turning in an 80 for 36th place.
As a team, Purdue Fort Wayne shot a 310, tying Lehigh for fourth. Host Sacred Heart is leading the field through one round with a 291, led by first-place Maya Robillio with a 69.
The final round of the Sacred Heart Invitational will kick off on Saturday morning (March 12).
