Olafsdottir Leads Mastodons Through 36 at Nevel Meade Collegiate

PROSPECT, Ky. - Anna Olafsdottir led Purdue Fort Wayne in the opening two rounds of play at the Nevel Meade Collegiate on Monday (March 21). She turned in a 75-79-154 with one more round to play.
Olafsdottir had a relatively clean 36 holes, carding nothing worse than a bogey. In her first round, she dropped birdies on 10 and 18 to go with 11 pars. In the afternoon, she had nine more pars and a birdie on the 475-yard hole two. She is tied for 14th.
Laura Caetano put together an effort that tied her for 27th, turning in 82-75-157. Her opening 18 featured a birdie on 16 and six pars. In her second go-around, Caetano got birdies to fall on two, seven, eight, 17 and 18. She had the second-most birdies in the field.
Kennedy Brooker was one shot off of Caetano, tying for 30th with an 82-76-158. She had two birdies on the day, coming on hole 17 in round one and hole two in round two. She finished with 19 pars.
Arny Dagsdottir had both her rounds taken for the team score from the No. 4 spot, turning in 81-79-160. She had 11 pars and a birdie on 18 in the opening 18, then 12 more pars in the afternoon. Dagsdottir is tied for 38th heading into the final round.
Also competing for the team score, Taylor Norman fired an 83-79-162. She carded birdies on two and 11 in round one, then another one seven in round two. Her second round had eight pars to go with the birdie.
Sarah Brenneman competed as an individual, shooting 92-93-185.
As a team, the Mastodons shot 320-309-629 to occupy seventh place. Cleveland State and Youngstown State are tied for the lead, shooting 611 each. Bellarmine's Josephine Bonin is leading the individual race after turning in 76-70-146.
The Mastodons are ahead of Horizon League member Northern Kentucky (656), and are within one of Oakland (628).
The final round of the Nevel Meade Collegiate will begin on Tuesday morning (March 22).
