
Purdue Fort Wayne Day Of Giving Set for April 27

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Purdue University Fort Wayne is hosting its fourth annual Day of Giving, on Wednesday, April 27. Donations can be made at www.gomastodons.com/dayofgiving.
Purdue Fort Wayne will joining in the success of the annual Purdue Day of Giving, by participating in this fundraising initiative on April 27. For 24 hours, students, alumni, faculty, staff, parents, and friends will be encouraged make a gift to help us provide opportunities and transform lives at Purdue Fort Wayne.
One of Purdue University Fort Wayne's great sources of pride is our athletics program. Again this year, the Athletic department will hold an intradepartmental challenge. The program with the most donations to its program on the Day of Giving will receive an additional $1,000 towards its 2022-23 operating budget. Alumni, fans, friends and all other individuals looking to support Mastodon Athletics are encouraged to make a gift on April 27. Donations to the Athletic department can be made at gomastodons.com/dayofgiving.
The 2021-22 season saw the 'Dons win their first-ever title in the Horizon League, with the men's basketball team earning a regular-season championship on their way to a CBI berth. However, the path to a championship isn't a single season. Multiple teams in 2021-22 moved closer to their next championship.
- Women's soccer earned a berth in the Horizon League Tournament, their first league tournament bid since 2013.
- Women's track and field was fourth at the 2022 Horizon League Indoor Championships, their best ever finish at a league meet.
- Men's volleyball advanced to the MIVA Championship match for the first time since 2007.
- Baseball picked up a win at Big Ten foe Michigan on their way to their most victories since 2016.
- Andrew Whitinger took seventh overall for the 'Dons at the Horizon League Men's Cross Country Championship, the program's best ever performance at a league meet.
- Madison King was fifth in the Horizon League Women's Cross Country Championship.
- Men's soccer was alive for the postseason up until the final match of the season, thanks to the best defensive season statistically in Division I program history.
- Men's golf's Kasey Lilly earned a pair of league Golfer of the Week honors with the 'Dons earning three top three finishes as a team in 2021-22.
