Mastodons Wrap Up Day One at Jan Weaver Invite

MURRAY, Ky. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's golf team competed in the opening round of the Jan Weaver Invitational on Friday (April 8), shooting a 340 team score.
The tournament was originally scheduled to have 36 holes played, but due to poor weather, the opening day was shorted to 18 holes.
Anna Olafsdottir led the way for the Mastodons, turning in an to finish in a tie for 24th. She birdied hole nine with a two, pairing with seven pars. Fellow Icelandic teammate Arny Dagsdottir, who also sits in the top-30, turned in an 82 in the opening round. She had a birdie on the 420-yard par-5 17th hole and eight pars.
Kennedy Brooker tied for 53rd with an opening round 87. She had six pars. Taylor Norman had her score of 90 taken as the last of the team scores. She had six pars as well. Laura Caetano tied for 61st, one shot back of Norman with a 91. Caetano had eight pars in her opening round.
Casey Bunner shot a 91 to tie for 61st with Caetano. She played as an individual.
The Mastodons, currently in 10th, will play in the final round of the Jan Weaver Invitational on Saturday (April 9).
