Purdue Fort Wayne Picked Fifth in #HLVB Preseason Poll

INDIANAPOLIS - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's volleyball team was picked fifth in the Horizon League Preseason Poll, the league announced on Thursday (Aug. 25).
The Mastodons tied for seventh with Cleveland State last season. The 'Dons were 6-12 in Horizon League play in 2021 and return a core group of Rachael Crucis, Maggie Castleman, Ramei Jackson, Sidney Schiller and Madelyn Wurster. The Mastodons added six freshmen and a sophomore transfer for the 2022 season. Evansville transfer and Fort Wayne native Taya Haffner joined Purdue Fort Wayne's setting corps in the spring of 2022. She led Evansville to the National Invitational Volleyball Championship quarterfinal match in 2021.
The Mastodons open the 2022 season on Friday and Saturday (Aug. 26-27) with the Purdue Fort Wayne Invitational Presented by Sonesta Select. The 'Dons will play Canisius, Lindenwood and Western Illinois in their home tournament. Horizon League competition opens on September 20 against Milwaukee.
