Dagsdottir Leads Mastodons in Season Opening Competition

KEWADIN, Mich. – The Purdue Fort Wayne women's golf team wrapped up the A-Ga-Ming Invitational on Monday (Sept. 5) with Arny Dagsdottir putting together the Mastodons' best performance in the event hosted by Central Michigan University.
The 'Dons played the final round of the event on Monday with Dagsdottir shooting 79, finishing with a 79-76-79-234, tied for 23rd in the tournament. Anna Olafsdottir was two shots back, tied for 26th, with a 77-77-82-236. Laura Caetano tied for 30th (83-75-80-238). Luiza Caetano had her best round of the event on Monday with a 80-85-78-243, tying for 35th. Taylor Norman tied for 40th (83-82-84-249).
The 'Dons had a pair of individuals in the event. Adrienne Rohwedder finished 25th, shooting 83-76-76-235. Freshman Natalie Papa shot 81-81-80-242 for 34th.
Purdue Fort Wayne finished with a team score of 319-310-319-948 for sixth place. Oakland edged Central Michigan by three strokes to win the team title. Eastern Michigan's Alyssa DiMarcantonio won medalist honors.
The 'Dons are back in action on Monday (Sept. 19) at the Cardinal Classic hosted by Ball State.
