Mastodon Men Take Fourth at Horizon League XC Championship

FAIRBORN, Ohio – The Purdue Fort Wayne men's cross country team finished fourth in Saturday's (Oct. 28) Horizon League Cross Country Championship. It's tied for the program's second best finish and is the second-best Horizon League finish in program history.
Harrison Niswander was the first Mastodon across the line as his personal best 8K time of 24:55.60 is the second-fastest 8K in school history which earned him 22nd in the overall standings. Austin Hall was just a few seconds behind at 25:05.76 and 27th overall as the 'Dons' second runner. Jarred Neff was the third Mastodon in the top 30 with his 30th-place finish and personal best time of 25:14.03, the fifth-fastest time in program history.
Rounding out the 'Dons' top five were Nicholas Mills and Kobe Milledge. Mills finished 40th overall with a time of 25:26.85 while Milledge ran a personal best time of 25:54.46 and finished 52nd.
Kehinde Oladapo finished 60th at 26:11.85, Jackson Marshall finished 88th at 27:17.22, and Nathan Mills finished 89th at 27:30.21.
Purdue Fort Wayne scored 155 points to take fourth place. Outside of last year's third place finish, the 'Dons best finish at a conference meet was fourth-place, a spot they took in both the 2017 and 2018 Summit League meets.
Youngstown State was the overall winner with 31 points.
Purdue Fort Wayne will head to Madison, Wis. to take part in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional. The Mastodons will run at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course on Friday, November 10.
