Mastodon Men's Golf Records Top-Five All-Time Score

RICHMOND, Ky. - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's golf team recorded one of its best tournament-long scores at the Colonel Shootout on Friday (Sept. 1), finishing the event with an 854. That mark is the third-best 54-hole score in program history.
Kasey Lilly was the Mastodons' best for the second day, finishing the event with a 69-69-71-209. He tied for seventh, which gave him the 16th top-10 of his career. In his final round, he had birdies on holes two, three, six and 11.
Hunter Mefford tied for 18th on Friday, shooting 74-67-72-213. He was 2-over in his final round, which included a 2-under, bogey-free front nine. He had back-to-back birdies on holes two and three. The 213 was the best 54-hole score in his career.
Burke Pitz finished in a tie for 20th with his 74-69-71-214. On Friday, he had 17 pars and just one bogey. This tied Pitz' best career score in his five-year career. Playing as an individual, Nick Holder tied Pitz with a score of 72-68-74-214. Holder's final round was highlighted by birdies on 12 and 17. Holder's 214 also set a personal best as a collegian.
Freshman AJ Agnew shot 74-68-73-215 to tie for 29th in his first collegiate action. His final round of 73 came by way of birdies on 10 and 15.
Jadden Ousley and Nick Bellush tied for 47th with a pair of 221's. Ousley's 72-75-74 included a birdie on hole two in round three. Bellush's first collegiate tournament of 75-74-72 included a bogey-free back nine in the final round. He had a birdie on hole 13 to go with eight pars.
The 'Dons finished the event in seventh place in the 12-team field. They were six shots ahead of Horizon League foe Robert Morris. Belmont (-3) won the Colonel Shootout, led by Reeve Felner (-8), who took the individual medalist honor.
The Mastodons will head to the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational in 10 days (Monday, Sept. 11) in Huntington, West Virginia.
