Wright State Takes Four-Setter From Mastodons

DAYTON, Ohio - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's volleyball team dropped a four-set match 25-21, 22-25, 25-13, 25-20 at Wright State on Friday night (Nov. 8).
The Mastodons were at their best late in set two. Trailing 22-15, Panna Ratkai got a kill that started a 10-0 Mastodon run. Nicole Jones served for the 'Dons on the run that saw them force Wright State into six hitting errors. Iris Riegel had two blocks with Kennedy McCants assisting on one of them. The Mastodons hit .205 in the second set while holding Wright State to .119.
Ratkai nearly kept the Mastodons in the contest late. She had seven of the Mastodons' 14 kills in set four. She ultimately finished with a match-high 21 kills and 16 digs. This is her ninth double-double in the last 11 matches.
Behind the setting of Lauren Yacobucci, Wright State hit .231 on a balanced attack. The Raiders had three in double-figures. Reilly Zegunis and Sam Ott had 15 kills each. The Raiders led 7-0 in aces and 12-7 in blocks.
LonDynn Betts had 21 digs, the most of any player on the floor.
The Mastodons fell to 15-13, 8-7 Horizon League. Wright State improves to 22-4, 14-1. These two teams will meet again tomorrow (Saturday, Nov. 9) at 2 p.m.
