FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's basketball team will play host to the Green Bay Phoenix on Saturday (Dec. 7) with a 2 p.m. tip to continue Horizon League play.

The Green Bay Phoenix, who were picked second in the Horizon League Preseason Poll, are 6-3 with a 1-0 start to league play. The early season is highlighted by a 70-54 victory over DePaul. In the league opener, the Phoenix beat IU Indy 78-56 thanks to double-digit efforts from five players. Maddy Schreiber and Natalie McNeal both average north of 12 points per game.

Green Bay leads the series 12-0, but the Mastodons have been close to breaking through the barrier recently. Four of the last five games have been single-digit defeats.

Lauren Ross scored 27 points against Furman (Nov. 28) and 25 against Robert Morris (Dec. 4), becoming the first Mastodon with back-to-back 25-point games since Hall of Famer Amanda in 2014.
Smooth Jazz
Jazzlyn Linbo had 10 rebounds and five blocks against Robert Morris on December 4. She is one of four Mastodon players for a total of seven instances to record 10 or more rebounds and five or more blocks in the Division I era (2001-present). She has done so twice, as did Stephanie Rosado and Eva Ivanova. Sh'Toya Sanders did it once.
Saving the Best for Last
Lauren Ross is shooting 48.5 percent from the floor, 47.0 percent from 3-point range and 94.1 percent from the charity stripe, while grabbing 5.2 rebounds per game. All of those marks are the best of her career. Ross' 3.44 triples per game ranks eighth in the country and 47.0 percent from beyond the arc ranks 32nd.
