
Four Mastodons Named to #HLMBB Teams

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Four Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons were honored on Monday (March 4) with the announcement of the 2023-24 Men's Basketball All-Horizon League Teams.
Sophomore Jalen Jackson and junior Rasheed Bello were named to the All-Horizon League Third Team. Bello and senior Anthony Roberts were selected to the All-Defensive Team. Corey Hadnot II was named to the All-Freshman Team.
Jackson and Bello earn all-league honors in their first season as Mastodons. In the league, Jackson ranked fifth in field goal percentage (51.2 percent), fifth in steals per game (1.6) and eighth in scoring (16.2). Bello ranked second in steals per game (1.8), fourth in assists per game (4.2), sixth in assist/turnover ratio (1.8) and 10th in scoring (15.1). Bello was named to the Arizona Tipoff All-Tournament Team and earned one Horizon League Player of the Week award in 2023-24.
Roberts and Bello have each totaled 57 steals on the season to rank 49th in the nation in total steals. The duo has anchored a Mastodon defense recording 9.5 steals per game, 11th in the nation. The Mastodons' 6.4 turnover margin is fourth in the country.
Hadnot II had a league-best five Horizon League Freshman of the Week honors this season. He averaged 6.3 points and 1.5 assists per game. The freshman had 15 points vs. Detroit Mercy (Dec. 31) and 11 points vs. Wright State (Jan. 6).
The Mastodons picked up their 20th win of the season on Saturday. The 'Dons will host Robert Morris on Tuesday (March 5) in the opening round of the 2024 Barbasol Horizon League Championship.
