MBB Earns NABC Team Excellence Award; Bello Named to Honors Court

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Purdue Fort Wayne's Rasheed Bello has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court which recognizes student-athletes for their work in the classroom.
Bello was a 2023-24 All-Horizon League Third Team and Defensive Team pick. He earned Horizon League Player of the Week Award and was named to the Arizona Tip-Off All-Tournament Team. Bello led the league in steals (1.9 per game) and ranked third in assists (4.3 per game). He was second on the team in scoring (14.9 points per game) including a 29-point night against Texas A&M-Commerce. Bello, entering his senior season in 2024-25, owns a 3.49 GPA. Bello was one of eight student-athletes in the Horizon League to earn the honor.
Additionally, the 'Dons earned the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award which recognizes teams with a 3.0 team GPA. The Mastodons were the only team in the Horizon League to receive the honor.
