LonDynn Betts Records 27 Digs at Robert Morris in League Opener

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - LonDynn Betts notched 27 digs in Purdue Fort Wayne women's volleyball's Horizon League opener on Friday night (Sept. 27).
Betts' 27 digs in the 25-18, 25-21, 25-18 loss is the third-most in a three-set match in program history. She had eight in the first set, 11 in the second and eight more in the last set of the night.
The Mastodons finished with 64 digs, a season-high in three-setters.
RMU had a 3-0 run to take the lead early in set one and never trailed again. Despite Panna Ratkai's six opening-set kills, RMU took the first set.
The 'Dons had a 7-0 run in set two behind Nicole Jones' service that included three blocks in a row from Jena Medearis. The Mastodons led 20-19, but RMU went on a 6-1 run to close the frame.
Set three was all RMU after a 5-0 run after a 9-9 draw.
Medearis finished with a season-high eight blocks, while Riley Rosneck added six assists on those blocks. Medearis either assisted or got credit on her own for all eight of the Mastodons' blocks.
Purdue Fort Wayne falls to 7-7 and starts HL play 0-1. The Colonials improve to 6-6 and start 1-0. These two teams will meet again on Saturday (Sept. 28) at 2 p.m. for a rematch.
