FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne cross country teams will travel to Bradley on Friday (Oct. 17) to compete in the Bradley Pink Classic for the fourth consecutive year.

The Mastodons earned sixth at the Joe Piane Invitational (Oct. 3). Riley Tate led the 'Dons in the gold race, running a personal record time of 17:34.1 to earn eighth. The senior's time was the third fastest 5K time in program history, beating her own time by 0.2 seconds. Ava Genovese was the second Purdue Fort Wayne runner to cross the finish line in 18:13.1, placing 28th. Haylee Hile finished 41st (18:27.2) and Lydia Carrell notched 45th (18:30.0). Faith Allen rounded out the Mastodon top-five finishers with a personal record time of 18:46.6, good for 65th.

Purdue Fort Wayne took 10th at Notre Dame in the Joe Piane Invitational (Oct. 3).Sam Dunnett led Purdue Fort Wayne in the gold race, crossing the finish line in 13th. The Grad student ran a personal record time of 24:39.7, the program's second quickest 8K time. Harrison Niswander jumped out to a quick start, sitting second at the 1K split and first after the 3K split. The senior finished in 24th with a time of 24:57.3. Freshman Jack Strong was the next Mastodon to finish, earning 65th with a personal record time of 25:42.9. Colten Gasson (25:47.9) and Marcus Ridge (26:10.1) capped off the 'Dons top-five finishers, placing 70th and 100th respectively.
Strong Performance
Jack Strong was named #HLXC Freshman Runner of the Week (Sept. 9) after the Mastodons' first meet of the season. The Indiana native began his collegiate career with a third place finish at the Mastodon Alumni Open (Sept. 6). Strong's 5K time of 15:41.7 is the sixth fastest time in program history. The freshman aided the 'Dons to a first place finish at the site of the 2025 Horizon League Cross Country Championships.
Preseason Poll
The Purdue Fort Wayne women's team placed fourth and the men earned fifth in the 2025 Horizon League Preseason Polls.
Women's Season Preview
The Mastodons return their top-five finishers from the 2024 #HLXC Championships, where they took third at the meet. Riley Tate earned a spot on the First Team All-Horizon League team after finishing sixth. Ava Genovese earned a spot on the Second Team All-Horizon League squad, placing ninth at the meet. Lydia Carrell and Haylee Hile finished in 20th and 21st, and Faith Norris rounded out the Don's finish in 31st.
