Stevenson Dazzles in Exhibition Win Over Ball State

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Mikale Stevenson poured in 23 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists in Purdue Fort Wayne's 84-70 exhibition victory over Ball State on Monday (Oct. 27).
The Fort Wayne native Stevenson, playing in his first home game in his hometown, filled up the box score going 10-of-14 from the floor. He finished the first half with a buzzer beater three and then brought the house down with a one-handed dunk in the second half.
Stevenson was one of three Mastodons in double-digits. Corey Hadnot II shot 8-of-13 for 19 points. DeAndre Craig Jr. added 13 points and six boards.
The Mastodons held a 54-30 edge in points in the paint and 17-10 advantage in fast break points.
Ball State never really threatened in the game after the 'Dons went up 17-6 on a 10-0 scoring run early in the first. Stevenson had five of the points. All five Mastodon starters had a field goal before the first media timeout.
Devon Barnes led the Cardinals with 18 points. Ball State shot just 36.4 percent (24-of-66) from the floor while the 'Dons finished at a blistering 51.4 percent (35-of-61).
