Seven Mastodons Ran Personal Record Times at Notre Dame

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's cross country team finished 10th at Notre Dame on Friday (Oct. 3), the program's best team finish at the Joe Piane Invitational. The Mastodons set a total of seven personal records between the open and gold races at the meet.
The 'Dons tallied 269 points in the gold race, third among Horizon League teams. IU Indianapolis took fourth (185) and Green Bay finished in ninth (224). Chicago won the meet with 126 points.
Sam Dunnett led Purdue Fort Wayne in the gold race, crossing the finish line in 13th. The Grad student ran a personal record time of 24:39.7, the program's second quickest 8K time. Harrison Niswander jumped out to a quick start, sitting second at the 1K split and first after the 3K split. The senior finished in 24th with a time of 24:57.3. Freshman Jack Strong was the next Mastodon to finish, earning 65th with a personal record time of 25:42.9. Colten Gasson (25:47.9) and Marcus Ridge (26:10.1) capped off the 'Dons top-five finishers, placing 70th and 100th respectively.
Boden Genovese (26:46.2) notched 127th and Kale Seymour (26:51.3) finished in 129th in the gold race.
Six Purdue Fort Wayne runners competed in the open race at the meet. Colin Gasson (77th - 26:18.1), Andrew Arnos (90th - 26:39.2), Jackson Marshall (106th - 27:12.5), Joshua Roper (114th - 27:42.4) and Braydn Livingston (118th - 28:00.6) all ran personal record times. Jack Mills placed 120th (28:14.7).
The Mastodons will compete next at the Bradley Pink Classic on October 17th.
