Mastodons Drop #HLVB Match at Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's volleyball team dropped a three-set match at Milwaukee on Saturday (Nov. 1) 26-24, 25-22, 25-16.
Riley Rosneck was the Mastodons' best on Saturday, finishing with 12 kills and eight digs with a .278 hitting percentage.
As Rosneck went, the Mastodons went. She had five kills in the opening set, which led to the Mastodons having their most competitive set of the day. Purdue Fort Wayne had set point after a 4-0 run put them up 24-23, but Milwaukee took advantage of having Rosneck in the back row and put together a 4-0 run to take the set.
The 'Dons had a 5-0 run late in set two to tie the set at 21. In the run, Mya Plemons had two kills and two blocks. Miona Dimitric joined Plemons on both blocks and had a kill of her own. After this though, MKE earned four kills over the next five points to take the 2-0 lead.
Milwaukee used a series of 3- and 4-point runs to take control of the final set and set up an early exit.
Trinity Rye joined Rosneck as the only Mastodons with double-digit kills. Plemons was effective at the net for the second match in row, finishing with eight kills and five blocks with a .312 hitting clip. Haiden Means had a double-double of 22 assists and 11 digs off the bench. Becky Barrett dug out 11 attacks as well.
Annie Eschenbach had a match-high 15 kills for Milwaukee.
The Panthers improved to 7-20, 7-7 in the Horizon League. Purdue Fort Wayne fell to 3-22, 1-13. The Mastodons are back at home next weekend (Nov. 7-8) against Wright State.
