Mya Plemons Selected as Horizon League Player of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS - Purdue Fort Wayne middle blocker Mya Plemons was selected as one of the Horizon League's Players of the Week on Monday (Sept. 28), the league announced.
Plemons led Purdue Fort Wayne women's volleyball to a 2-0 week to open Horizon League play with a pair of wins over Cleveland State. She had 20 blocks over two matches, averaging 2.22 blocks per set, 0.65 higher than anyone else in the league in HL play. The junior middle had 13 blocks in Saturday's match, which was the second-most in a four-set match in all of Division I this season. She helped hold the Vikings to a .138 hitting percentage for the weekend, including .073 in the second matchup.
Plemons added 1.00 kills per set with a .286 hitting percentage in the front row.
This is Plemons' first Player of the Week award in his career. She is the second Mastodon to pick up the honor, as Riley Rosneck earned the award after the first week of the season.
Plemons and the Mastodons are back in action on Friday and Saturday (Oct. 2-3) with a pair of matches at Robert Morris.
