'Dons Take 10th at Buckeye Classic

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's golf team moved up two spots on the final day (Saturday, April 12) of the Buckeye Classic thanks to a 295 third round.
The 'Dons had five birdies over the last two holes to vault ahead of Le Moyne and Colgate and into a tie for 10th with Bowling Green. AJ Agnew birdied his last two, Cody Coleman birdied his last, and Brock Reschly and Nick Holder both birdied their penultimate holes.
Agnew and Reschly tied for 34th with scores of 221. Agnew had a 73 in his final round. He started off five pars in a row before a birdie on 15. Agnew finished 2-under over his last seven holes thanks for birdies on holes four, eight and nine. Reschly started with a birdie on 10 and joined Agnew with a birdie on 15. Reschly birdied the first and last holes on his second nine with six pars and a bogey in between for a 1-under front.
Holder shot 73-75-75-223 to tie for 47th. He birdied his opening hole for the second round in a row and got a birdie on hole eight for the third time in as many rounds. He had nothing worse than a bogey and added 11 pars.
Nick Bellush took 69th place with a score of 76-80-76-232. He birdied holes two, four and 10 and also had nothing worse than a bogey in round three.
Coleman took 72nd place after a 79-81-73-233. He birdied his opening hole as well, one of four 'Dons to do so on Saturday. He added birdies on holes one, nine and 15. He was 1-under on the front nine.
Julian Dugan took 66th place with a 73-79-79-231. He had birdies on 10 and 12.
As a team, Purdue Fort Wayne finished the even with an 894. Ohio State won the even with an 846.
The Mastodons will be in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida next week for the Horizon League Championship (April 19-21).
