Masty Awards Celebrate Best of 2024-25

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - On Tuesday (April 15) evening at the Walb International Ballroom, Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodon student-athletes and program contributors were celebrated during the annual Masty Awards. The event was hosted by WANE TV's Josh Ayen, track and field's Zyler Johnson and women's volleyball's Nikki Jones. Several other student-athletes and staff presented awards during the evening.

The event provided recognition for the achievements – both athletically and academically – of Purdue Fort Wayne's sports teams during the 2024-25 academic year. Inductees into Chi Alpha Sigma were also recognized. Awards presented include:

Heart of a Don Award – Sam Garland (baseball)
Athlete of the Year - Male – Ezra Lewellen (men's track and field)
Athlete of the Year - Female – Grace Hollopeter (softball) and Lauren Ross (women's basketball)
Senior Athlete of the Year - Male – Rasheed Bello (men's basketball)
Senior Athlete of the Year - Female – Amellia Bromenschenkel (women's basketball)
Freshman Athlete of the Year - Male – Boden Genovese (men's cross country/track & field)
Freshman Athlete of the Year - Female – Lillian Hurd (women's track & field) and Riley Rosneck (women's volleyball)
David R. Skelton Award – Nikki Jones (women's volleyball)
Fan of the Year – Thad Tegtmeyer
Tony Laux Volunteer of the Year – Brian Tackett
Standing Ovation Award – 1. Aimee Myers and the Hefner Fund Foundation 2. Michelle Parker
Strength and Conditioning Athletes of the Year Award – Garrett Maish (baseball) and Alanah Jones (softball)
Best Facial Expression – Assistant Coach Myles Tyler (track and field)
Best Hypeman – Women's Cross Country Team
Best Super Fan – The Herd
Academic Excellence Award – Lizzie Haub (women's soccer)
Best International Athlete – Louiza Kruiswijk (women's track and field)
Best Road Trip Moment – Men's Cross Country Team
Best Play – Jonas Morris (men's track and field) and Chloe Mariotti (women's soccer)
Best Celebration – Abe Arellano (men's soccer)
Best Record Breaking Performance – Bailey Manos (softball)
Outstanding Individual Athletic Performance – Justin Osterhouse (baseball)
Best Drip – Emmanuel Jurineack (men's volleyball) and Lillian Gottman (women's golf)
Sportsmanship – Jazzlyn Linbo (women's basketball)
Small But Mighty – Aydan Pheral
Big Spirit Award – Zachary Reed
SALT Service to Students Award – Samantha Castaneda
